1979 Buick Roadmaster Additional Info:
Yes I did it and proud of it!! Back in the eighties ITOOK a bet I couldn;t build a 4x4 monster car. Well a month later I enjoyed my six pack of Coors Beer while driving my air conditioned Wagon. The miles is correct for the power train at only 58000. The Body is 1979 and the power train in 75 Chevy Blazer, rear frame is 74 C10 with the 36gal gas tank of the Blazer. It took me about five years to get the title straighten out on the car since it took three vehicle to build. It is titles as a 1988 Custom Buick SW *RECONSTRUCTED*and it was issued finallyin March of 1992. I was in the car buissness and got took on this car at dealers auction. SO I made a 4X4 out of it. It is still AWD as they were back then and works great. I drove this creation for years until I moved to beach and lived there and had no room for it at my home. So I parked it at my ole business and it sat until a little over a year ago. We got it out and clean the gas tank and the lines, fuel pump, carb rebuild, and all the brakes were replaced along with the lines calapers wheel cylders and hardware. Put a battery in it and drove it around town to make some of the four wheelers marvel. Yes you can drive it home, It needs some body work on the front fender and door on the pass side as it was like that when I bought the car. Drivingoriginal carhome its motor blew up so I figured it would make a pretty 4X4. I have put around 20k miles on this car and have had a ball. I have had a seven leval back fusion and hip and knee replacements and I;m unable to get in it and its to good a driver to let sit. You will have interior work to do but its a great car to drive and turn the heads. Not for the whippy to behold but a rugged brute of a "GREAT AMERICAN OFF ROAD CAR, BUICK" That was the sales saying back then I just added the off road part. I have built all kinds of truck and cars over my life and I built this one for myself. I will gladly answer any and all questions and I will get better pictures for you after it is cleaned up. Oh and Yes its a 9passenger with the back seat up. AND it will tow about anything you want to hook to her. Every thing on it used to work and I;m sure it will all work again with a little lovin. The AC still has feon in it and I;m sure it will need charging upon checking it. IF YOU WANT A ONE OF A KIND STATION WAGON THIS IS IT. A GREAT CAR FOR ADVERTISING AS EVERYONE DOES A DOUBLE TAKE WHEN THEY SEE IT. Thanks for looking at the great American off road Buick.
