I don't believe that you can find a nicer E30 for the money, I would not hesitate to drive it anywhere. As a matter of fact, I would gladly drive it anywhere in the continental US for delivery.Of course all costs would be paid for upfront, fuel, lodging, meals and return airfare. The car looks, runs and drives like new.
I purchased this car from the second owner in 2014. He had done an extensive restoration as listed below spending well over thirty thousand dollars. His restoration was over a three year period starting in 2007. The car was kept in a climate controlled warehouse and driven rarely from 2007 until my purchase in 2014. The main reason that I am selling it is that for me, it is too nice a car to drive daily and I do not have a garage to keep it in. Whoever buys this car will be getting a rare and great looking E30. And will have a rapidly appreciating classic that can be driven anywhere with dependability and comfort. Resto details; All parts used in the restoration are new OEM BMW parts sourced from all over the world. Many are no longer available from BMW directly and were purchased from dealerships and resellers. The only exceptions to this are the lowering springs and shocks which are H&R. The stereo system is Alpine with Alpine speakers in the original locations. All the gauges are OEM but were refaced in white. And the exhaust system is OEM but has Borla tips.
In 2007 the car was disassembled prepped and refinished in the OE Alpine White. In my opinion the paint job is far superior to the factory paint with no flaws except as noted below..Antenna and third brake light were removed and filled. The hardtop was stripped, new OE glass installed, new OE hardware and gaskets, headliner replaced and refinished in OE Alpine White. Original MTech body parts were cracked or missing and all were replaced with OE parts ($3500 in parts alone).Soft top was converted from electric powered to manual and works smoothly. Soft top is worn but has no tears or rips and rear window is clear. Complete disassembly of interior. Dash and center console recovered, new OEM carpet and mats replaced with new hardware as needed. Sport seats, door panels and side panels recovered in Lotus leather and OE Mtechnic cloth inserts. Plastic/vinyl interior parts were replaced or refinished as needed. Rear OEM headrests were added. All glass, interior, exterior gaskets and hardware were replaced with OEM parts. Original windshield wipers removed and converted to European monowiper.
Drivetrain is stock and original with 132,000+ miles on it. All gaskets and hoses were replaced in 2007. The vehicle has been properly maintained all of its life and runs/operates as designed with no issues. No rust and no wrecks The body paint looks better than new and is flawless except for a nick by passenger headlight. There are two scratches on the bottom edge of the hardtop and two stress cracks in the hardtop. The front spoiler has a number of small nicks from road debris and rocks that are only visible up close. All of these are shown in the attached pictures.
