1985 BMW 3-Series Additional Info:

General Description This well preserved German icon boasts it's sporty heritage through its dazzling red paint and remarkably clean tan interior. For being 33 years old the car has very few problems and none that will keep this gem from becoming your next daily driver or weekend warrior as you head out to those autocross events. The A/C was replaced by the previous owner and works well in Texas' 95 plus heat. Even though the heat has been most unbearable, Ihave also tested the heat function and it works well. Now for the big question for all e30 cars, RUST. There is ABSOLUTELY NO RUST! The car appears to have been stored in a garage for the majority of its life and has benefited greatly from its past owner's care. Everywhere under the car is clean, sunroof area and drains are great, the trunk and spare tire well look new, engine bay and firewall are perfect. It's ALMOST too good to be true.
Options/ Details Time to get to the nitty-gritty, this car has been well taken care of through the years. When it began its life the car was highly optioned.-A/C-leather sport bucket seats-pop-out rear windows-fog lights-power windows-electric sunroof-power mirrors-OBC (on board computer)-AM/ FM/ CD radio setup (can include an original style radio as well if you want)-2.7L inline 6 torque monster-5 speed manual transmission-14" bottle caps wheels with brand new tires
Recent Service History I've personally sorted this car out so it starts and runs extremely well every time and could be used as a daily driver if you want. Personally seeing to the plethora of oddities that these old BMWs have seems to be the only way to get them sorted out correctly. The work that I have done to the car is as follows (and is not limited to the list, its all that I can remember at the moment).-original 14" bottle cap wheels and new tires sourced and installed-new reference and speed sensors-replaced ICV (idle control valve)-replaced ICM (idle control module)-replaced DME (engines computer)-A/C service check (everything appears to be fine)-new temperature switch-vacuum leaks repaired (there were quite a few)-throttle blade cleaned-new muffler-new rear shock bushings-interior has been detailed (leather has been shampooed and conditioned, carpets have been thoroughlycleaned and stain treated, all plastics and vinyl have been cleaned and conditioned with 303) -paint has been buffed and exterior plastics have had a protective coating put on them (the clear coat doesn't appear to have any thin spots and the black trim was already in great shape before the detailing started)
The BMW Experience Drivability, that is what this e30 has. The low revving and torque happy 2.7L 6 cylinder and 5 speed combo make this car zippy. Driving it is pure excitement with how maneuverable it is and you always have the grunt right away with this engine, instead of needing to rev it up to reach the powerband. The car is extremely light, the engine produces copious amounts of torque, the steering is sensitive and exact, the brakes are strong and true. This combination, without ANY driver aids, creates the purity that these cars are world renown for. This is the experience that memories and stories are created and told year after year about. The experience that sharpens the senses everytime that you get behind that sporty steering wheel, an experience that is more vivid than almost anything today. That being said, what are you waiting for? Buy the car already, you and I both know that you want to!
BMW... What driving should be.
