1973 BMW 3.0CS Additional Info:

This 1973 BMW 3.0CS is a driver with its original 3.0 liter inline 6-cylinder engine and 4-speed transmission. The previous owner of over 30-years kept the car in storage, though it was started regularly to keep systems healthy and remained registered. The car was serviced with new front brake calipers and soft brake lines, replaced worn engine components, and new front lower control arms/ball joints. A compression test showed #1-164 #2-157 #3-159 #4-151 #5-158 #6-152. The history file has records back to 1996 and the car wears its original blue California plates and carries a clean CA title.
The car has 151k-miles and was repainted sometime in the past, the door jambs, trunk, and engine compartment retain the original silver paint.
Body panels appear straight, with no evidence of accidents or repair work. All panel gaps are aligned correctly and the body is in good condition overall.
BBS mesh wheels have been fitted to the car and wear Michelin tires with 70% tread remaining.
The front brakes have been serviced with new calipers. The rotors were found to be in good condition along with the pads. An extra set of new brake pads will be included. All the rubber soft lines were replaced and the brake fluid was flushed with DOT4.Bilstein shocks are fitted.
The chrome brightwork is in good shape and is all accounted for, with bumpers, window trim, grille, and badges showing few signs of any oxidation. Known rust areas are free of significant corrosion.
The interior is original apart from a wooden Momo steering wheel and aftermarket stereo. The wood trim is showing its age, but the remaining vinyl and plastics appear to be in good condition for a driver. The A/C system is intact and is blow cold, and the wiper motor work properly. Gauges, lights, and power accessories are function as they should.
Leather seats are unrestored with several small tears and heavy wear apparent. in contrast the chrome seat trim looks bright, and the original headliner, carpets, and floormats are are in good condition.
The car features its original 3.0 liter inline six-cylinder engine, drivetrain, and twin carbs. It came from the factory with a 9.0:1 compression ratio and was advertised at producing 180 horsepower at 6000 RPMs.
