1957 BMW Other Additional Info:

1957 Goggomobil (microcar)BMW

I have an antiquity company in the middle of Texas. We specialize in fine antiques and collectibles. Once in a while my customers turn in a classic automobile or motorcycle.

This is one of those items:

We received this beautiful microcar from its owner that had the intention of completely restoring the car. And he sent the engine and transmission to a rebuilder in another town and somehow those items were lost.

After 10 years of waiting, he decided to depart with his beautiful Goggomobil. We have found some of these Goggomobils on line that have been equipped with a Motorcycle (1100) engine and transmission, or other types of engines.

Anyhow, you can have this beautiful car and add your own type of engine and transmission to it.

The car is absolutely solid, and comes with many extra parts, the owner sent the car out and it had complete body work to include inside, outside, and underneath done. He installed new shocks, new tires, and then after the loss of the engine and transmission, the car was parked in a dry garage in his home for ten years.

Please remember that the car comes with what you see in the pictures and it does not have an engine and transmission. Some of the glass has been replaced with plexiglass and since we have never seen any of these cars, it is probably missing some parts, so the car needs a complete restoration.

It will be sold with a notarized bill of sale from the owner.

For those of you like me that have never heard of a Goggomobil, I searched and added a little bit of information for you:

Headquarters: Dingolfing, Germany

Class: Microcar

Manufacturer: Hans Glas GmbH (1955–1966); BMW (1966–1969)

Goggomobil was a series of microcars produced by Hans Glas GmbH in the Bavarian town Dingolfing between 1955 and 1969. Glas produced three models on the Goggomobil platform: the Goggomobil T sedan, the Goggomobil TS coupé, and the Goggomobil TL van. The engine was an air-cooled, two-stroke, two-cylinderengine.

Design changes were made in 1957. Two windshield wipers were used instead of the earlier single wiper, and the sliding windows in the doors were changed to wind-up windows.

Remember this classic micro car is almost 61 years old. Please remember that you are more than welcome to come see it in person.

Your bid is your contract. Please place bids only if you are serious about buying the item. If you are the winning bid, you are entering into a legal binding contract to purchase the item.
