1988 BMW M3 m3 Additional Info:

Selling my 1988 BMW M3 - I am the third Owner. I purchased it in November 2002 when it had just 82k miles. I have plenty of maintenance records.
Car now has just over 90k miles, it's always garaged, always covered, and well taken care of as you will see below.
Never been driven in, or seen rain in 15 years that I have owned it. Not driven often, but always taken care of.
No accidents, comes with a clean CARFAX, numbers matching all around, has all originalVIN tags on all the fenders, etc., clean inside and out. I have clean title in hand. Passes CA smog every year, every time.
EXTERIOR & INTERIOR
Previous owner re-sprayed the exterior prior to 2002. Today overall paint condition is an 8 out of 10 on the exterior.Had very recent comprehensive exterior detail and looks great overall.
Body does have minor chips in paint here and there, but nothing really worth fixing for my purposes while I have had the car.
Interior is all original, would rate it an 8.5 out of 10. Both front seats which were re-done in 2006 - due to Front seats having typical E30 M3 wear ondriver's side bolsters.
Rear seats are all original, and do show some minor sigs of wear - they are treated with leather care products when necessary and lookgreat for a 1988 model.
Interior dash on upper and lower sections is in EXCELLENT condition. No cracks, scratches, etc. all interior panels are original. Carpets are great, floormats are newer OEM style.
Aftermarket Sony AM/FM/ CD / Bluetoothunit installed in the last year, with hand held remote. I prefer to hear the S14 as my music of choice.
All the dash board and interior gauges work, OBC overhead computer readout works.OBC center console computer just need a new light bulb for display to be seen better. (Have been quoted $90 to repair it - I never did it)
A/Cworks it was recharged in 2005 and it works fine.
The sunroof, outside mirrors, and everything else works.
Engine is all original & stock with exception of K&N air filter. I also have a DINAN Performance Chip, but have never installed it.
Oil changedfrequently since I owned it, despite the low miles driven (8,000 milesin 15 years)
Mechanically a 9.9, exterior is an 8, interior is an 8.5.
So, given the relatively low mileage and the limited production numbers for a first year E30 M3, overall this car is a strong 8.5 or 9.
Car turns heads everywhere you go.... Looks great from 7-8 feet away.Up close you can see minor imperfections in the paint, but its a 30 years old car.
Rear spoiler shows signs of typical cracking for E30 M3 - See photos above - taken this month (September)
Lower portion of front bumper and spoiler have typical blemishes from beingdriven.
One item - the Lower air inlet area below bumper has plastic slats missing (previous owner) - doesn’t bother me. But just pointing it out.
Tow hook cover missing - not a big enough issue for me to replace it.
Overall an 8 out of 10, as I mentioned.... looks great after it has beenwiped down, and waxed.
Work / Items I have done to the car in my ownership:
- Added wheels in September 2010 with BMW BBS RS 740 17 x 8J 2 piece lightweight wheels. ( When I bought it, it had E36 Motorsport 17" M3 wheelsthat never looked right on the car.)
- Added KUMHO Ecsta 215-45-17 tires - have approx. 5k miles on them
- Added new window tint all around - 30% tint - Professionally appliedin Newport Beach.
- Added new OEM floor mats
- Added SPARCO front and rear strut braces
- Replaced battery June 2017
- Brake system upgrade - January 2011 - Replaced all 4 brake rotors and brake pads.
- Replaced rotors with performance cross-drilled rotors and Metal Matrix pads.
- Added Goodridge stainless steel brake lines all around for solid pedal feel (also had brake fluid flush 2xs since then)
- Rebuilt upper end of shifter with Z3 shift linkage and new shift knob. (Shorter throw, better feel, well worth it )
- Replaced all upper end vacuum lines replaced on intake manifold.
What you get:
Well sorted, low mileage, fast appreciating E30 M3, which has been well taken care of over the last 15 years.
All service records for last 18 years come with the car.
All original books, warranty info, owners manual, Chilton's repair guide come with the car. 1 spare key. Car Cover.
What I want:
- To sell the car to another enthusiast who will care for it like it deserves to be taken care of....
- To get current market price for the car - for those who know, these cars are rapidly appreciating.
- Please - Serious bidders only. No tire kickers - No low ballers, no wholesalers - We all know what the car is worth.
- $1,000 deposit required within48 hours of the close of auction. Full payment details to be worked out between me and buyer, but less than 7 days.

Any questions ? Ask in advance. I have a reasonable reserve on the car. Its also for sale locally, could end the auction early.Winning the auction doesn’t mean you won the opportunity to inspect the car.
3rd party mechanic inspections are welcomed while the auction is under way.Richard at Michelangelo's inLakeForest,CAhas been taking care of the car for me for the last 5 years.
Prior to that, it was Bullet Performance in Costa Mesa, another well-known E30 shop in Orange County.
Shipping is the full responsibility of the buyer - I can assist by making the car available to your shipping company of choice if its going out of state.
* PLEASE ask questions BEFORE you bid...
Good Luck, and Good Bidding.
