1987 BMW M6 Additional Info:

With much reluctance I am putting my beautiful M6 up for sale. It is a car I said I would never sell, but the BMW Alpha motorcycle (concept bike in the pictures) has taken over my life and is going on tour in Europe. I bought this car three years ago from a gentlemen in Colorado, who bought as a collector and never drove it. He owned it seven years... He bought it from a collector in Texas. It had 98k on it when I bought it, so I have driven it about 1000 miles a year. Mostly to car events or shows. Other wise it is stored in my hangar.
It is in great shape for a 30 year old car. Everything works, and is dead reliable. The paint is glossy. The interior is in excellent condition. It has an aftermarket stereo but I have the original. The leather dash is in good shape and has been treated with a conditioner by Luxe Auto Spa, but the leather is just starting to pull back from the heater vents from shrinkage. I have record of the driver seat bottom panel leather being replaced but the rest of the interior is original. Cinnabar over Lotus white.
The original front spoiler was broken in the typical spot and beat up. I had a new spoiler so had it painted by a trusted body shop and installed. I don't know if it wasn't preppedwell enough or what but the paint has lifted as shown in the picture. It just happened. It hasn't hit anything and the spoiler is perfect. The original spoiler will go with the sale if the buyer wants it.
Carfax doesn't show any body repairs but the nose and left fender were repainted at some point. The panels were not pulled and they certainly were not repainted on the car, so maybe it was done at the factory?? The color is perfect. It is hard to tell the difference.
I put coil-over suspension on it. The ride height on the E24 M6 is too high to me. The self leveling pump is still under the spare tire and I have the original suspension if the buyer wants it. I also have the original TRX metric wheels and tires (they are in rough shape but go with the car). I didn't want to modify the car more than could be put back perfectly original at any time. The BBS style 5s that are on the car are in excellent condition. 18" wheel size is perfect in my eyes.
It runs beautiful. The running gear is in perfect order. I would drive this car across country in a heartbeat.
The electrical system is flawless.
There is a dent near the rear roundel (see pic), and some tiny blemishes on the hood where it looks like something was set on it. There are a couple of door dings, but you have to look pretty hard to see them. The drivers side rear quarter panel has a quarter size rust spot (pic). There isn't a spot of rust anywhere else on the car.
The windshieldwas just replaced along with a BMW gasket. They reused the old trim as it was in perfect shape, but I have the new trim and will go with the car. There are some scratches on the driver side window, but otherwise the glass is great. All of the rubber on the rest of the car is very pliable and the door window rubber has no tears
The car is completelyoriginal other than the things mentioned. I am a huge BMW fan and this is not a fluke car I stumbled onto. It is the third E24 I have owned. The other two were dailiesand not M cars. This one was my dream and it kinda hurts me to let it go.
Apparentlyebay doesn'tallow youtube videos but Everyday Driver did a review on this car. It is their only E24 M6 video so not hard to find on youtube.
I am happy to help you get this car loaded onto transport, but shipping is completely your responsibility.
