1959 Austin Healey Sprite Additional Info:

Selling my 1959 Austin Healey Sprite, known by my grand-kids as Kermit. I've had this fine piece of British engineering since 1991 and it has been mostly fun during that time. The Bugeye runs great and strong (if you consider 42.5 HP strong). The cooling system was just gone over and a new head gasket was also installed. Everything works except the wipers and they work when I wire them hot to the battery, I may need a new switch. Since the Bugeye has its summer brookland racing screens on now, the use of the wipers is moot. A full windshield, side curtains, soft top, and hardtop come with this car.
I had it painted about 10-12 years ago and it has held up fairly well. There are some bubbles in the bonnet where there was lousy prep work (painting was done by a friend), but since it's a driver I really don't care. The interior is good, but the seats are from a Mark II sprite not a Bugeye. Tires are new (last year), and engine was gone over also last year.
I have modified the all steel bonnet to tilt forward to provide more headroom when fiddling with the motor. I have kept the old hinges to let the next owner change it back, I also have a box of old and new parts that goes with the car.
The Bugeye is also being sold locally so the auction may end at anytime.
