1966 Austin Healey Sprite Additional Info:

Downsizing forces the sale of my V6 Sprite, as I refer to as my "baby hot rod". It is a 66 model with a bugeye bonnet that is hinged at the front for easy engine access. The engine and trans are from a 95 Camaro and run on the factory Camaro ecm. This is a driver but could be spruced up if wanting to show. It has a custom roll bar that fits under the factory soft top and I've used silicone brake fluid for many years. Hardest part of the swap was the rear end, which is a narrowed Vega unit using Mark Williams forged axles and running 2.53 gears. This unit gives the needed strength, low rpm on the hiway and I've measured 42 mpg on trips. The car is docile on light throttle and has the charm of the original Sprite, but give it half throttle and it reminds you of a big block Camaro. Biggest corrosion issue is the bottom of the right rear fender(shown in photos), although it appears to be cosmetic and not structural(I think they make patch panels to repair this). Again it is a daily driver that is a ball to drive. I must comment on the engine - this 3.4 computer controlled v6 is one of the nicest engines I've ever owned - smooth quiet and never misses a beat.
