1965 Austin Healey 3000 2 Door Additional Info:

1965 Austin Healey 3000 MAKIII BJ8

The exterior has a paint job about 20 years ago but is still in good condition with some veining and bubbles. The red paint is still nice and shiny, the chrome on trim and bumpers are good all around. The gaskets are all good. The doors open and close well, windows roll up and down well, windshield is in good condition. The car comes with a nice rack installed properly without making any hole in the body on the rear trunk. The soft top canvas needs to be fixed or changed, but the frame is still in good condition with original paint and no rust. The tires are almost new.

The interior is original in good shape, cleanwith no cuts in the seat upholstery or door panels, but some sign of age. All door handles present and work properly. The dashboard is complete with all gauges and knobs, but the wood as usual in all BJ8 has fine veining. The RPM gauge is not working. The original steering wheel has a few cracks as usual in this model. The carpet is also in good shape. The arm rests in good condition. The car has double set of keys.

All the electrical system work but one light in the rear does not work, probably fuse or bulb problem. The engine runs well, gears change smoothly including the reverse, but I noticed lately that the first gear makes a little rattling noise but does not slip out of gear. The overdrive works well. The carburetors were rebuilt completely but needs some adjustment ( documented pictures and receipt of work done 3 years ago by Austin Healey specialist mechanicis included ). The brakes work well including the handbrake, the brake system was rebuilt completely with mostly new parts including the rotor, caliper, flexible pipes and other componentsabout 3 years ago ( pictures and receipt of work done included ). Also 3 years ago new fuel pump was put in, cleaned gas tank, replaced the gas line and complete tune up done by the previous owner. ( I have the receipt showing this work done)The engine number is 29K/RU/H3588 ( original tag on the engine)and the chassis (VIN) number is HBJ8L/28870 ( on the original aluminum tag on the firewall). Note that it also has a stamped frame matching number. I believe it's a matching number ( confirmed to me by Austin Healey registry), but please do your own research to confirm. The engine compartment is nice and clean in original condition.

The trunk department (comes with a spare tire, jack and hammer) is in good shape but has had some repair done in the past on the floor of the trunkclose to the back end near the bumper ( probably due to battery acid ). The car comes with a tonneau cover.

The car is solid with good floor and frame. I could not take good pictures of the underneath carriage because I don't have lifting system and as you know the car is very low profile. If you would like to send someone to inspect the car, please make sure to arrange someone who is an expert on BJ8 can do a propervisual inspection and with access to a facility that has lifting capabilities to see the underneath and do proper pictures. I did not do any retouch painting, sprays, oils, special cleaning, I wanted to present the car as is and give as clear a view as possible to the buyer.

The car shows69754 miles. Due to the age, I can't verify if they are original but the history of the documentation, service receipts and history, seems to match the odometer reading

Just remember that this is a 52 year old car so please be realistic in your expectations, but it is presentable and drivable and needssome maintenance and adjustment.

The car has history of service workand maintenance done since 1983 including couple of professionally done appraisals. The caris registered with the Austin Healey registry since 1983.

The car is located in Toronto Ontario Canada ( one and half hour drive from Niagara Falls NY and three and half hour drive from Detroit ))and is sold in the condition as is and where is and there is no warranty. The car will be sold with title inmy name.

I suggest for you to send someone to come and see the car or even yourself if able. I can pick you up at the airport and thecar is located only 15 minutes from the Toronto international airport.

I can help the buyer to find transport company or perhaps if the buyer is not too far, you can come and pick up with a trailer and clear at customs, this is a straightforward process.

I have experience with overseas shipping and I can personally help the buyer with the whole process directly from my garage if you need it or you can arrange ityourself. If you have less than 10 feedbacks, please contact me before committing to buy. I have many more pictures of the car, please contact me if you have any questions or need more pictures of any particular areas to clear anyconcernsyou may have about the condition. I believe in good communication so if you would like to talk to me personally about thecar, please send your phone number and I would be happy to call you to discuss everything. The car has been placed in local advertising so I reserve the right to remove the car from the listing.I am not a mechanic or bodyshop, vintage cars has been a passion and hobby for a long time for me, but I would be happy to clarify to the best of my ability any points about the car to make sure that the car is what you are looking for.
