1979 Alfa Romeo GTV GTV Additional Info:

The Alfetta GT and “Sprint Veloce” as it was called in ‘79 was the purest expression of Giugiaro’s classic 70’s design and is destined to be a future hallmark of his70’s era auto designs. While the later cars carried on the same look, they also got heavier and were adorned with more plastic.
This car has the highly sought afterEuro bumpers front and back. Not only do they add a cleaner more complimentary look to the design, they also save tons of weight over the US version. It’s been repainted in it’s original “avorio” color, Code AR103.
The most remarkable thing about this Alfa Romeo is the lack of rust. When searching for an Alfetta finding one that’s rust free is a primary concern and crucial toensuring its longevity as a classic. The lack of rust here will allow the new owner to enjoy the car as is without costly and complicated rust repair commonlyassociated with Alfetta ownership. The sills and rockers and inner engine bay fender areas are very dry as shown in the thorough photo section covering the underbody.
The paint is good, but not show quality. This did have a "window out" paint job so the trim is nice and clean without overspray. And there are a couple spots to note, the drivers door has a scratch under the handle about halfway down, the very front nose sections have a scratch on each side, and the rear hatch has some discoloration of the paint at the corners of the lower rubber sealing strip.I’ve made these as visible as possible in the photos. It's not bad, but wanted to be sure these were mentioned. Also, nearly impossible to see in the photos, but the driver side front fender has a little edge to it above the wheel, it's not really a dent but I can see a little edge in certain lights.
The 2 front factor spoilers and front grills are intact and not cracked.
Recent maintenance includes completely rebooted halfshafts (With proper fitment Italian CV boots) and adjusted brakes.New exhaust hangers installed front to back and the drive shaft flex joints look good. The car sports an OEM exhaust in good shape with no leaks. This exhaust has the factory style turndown muffler which is nice on the Alfettas because it keeps exhaust fumes out of the cars slipstream.
Over the last few years this car has benefitted from some very attentive Alfisti owners who have keep up on the maintenance and refreshed many items. Some of the upgrades/fixes are: engine rebuild in '09, european carb conversion with factory airbox, Marelli Plex ignition system, polished valve cover, clutch slave, master cylinder, fuel lines, fuel sending unit. Bilstein shocks front and rear. Recent pads all the way around.Engine has a fresh oil change. The radiator antifreeze and cap is clean and has no signs of “chocolate milk."
The car starts easily and runs smoothly down the road. Everything is working. Also, for anyone knowing older Alfa’s, you’ll be glad to hear that the second gear synchros are in good shape and there is no problem shifting into second gear with this car.
The seats are very good condition. The back of the passenger seat has a couple tears as shown. Also, the drivers back position adjuster is cracked and although it works it requires a delicatetouch. The dash is cracked in a couple places. The door panels are from a later model GTV6 but match the feeling of the car and don’t distract. Glass is all good without cracks. The windshield is hazing on the lower edges.
Comes with the hard to find 14x6” BWA alloy wheels that complement the exterior styling nicely. Another one is in the trunk as a spare. Tires are OK. Radio is for display only and not hooked up.
This car has the factory sunroof which works flawlessly and is a nice addition since there’s no AC. The plastic trim around the inner sunroof handle is missing, but the handle is there and fully operable.
