The GTV is one of Bertone’s most timeless designs. The car comes from Alfa Romeos golden age, and it shows. It’s perfect proportions and elegance are part of what has made these so collectible over the years. The GTV received some major performance upgrades by the time the 1972 model year rolled out, such as an increase in displacement, up to 2000cc, as well as some minor cosmetic changes.

This example has been with the same owner since 1976, whom was a huge Alfa Romeo enthusiast. The car is essentially completely original, save for some small notables. It is not common to find these in such original condition as thy were popular cars to modify and hot rod. This car was last registered in 1985 in Colorado and has been sitting for a number of years since then. As you can see, the paint is quite faded and has chipped off in many places. There is some rust present on the car, but mostly at a cosmetic level. The body panels on this car are all extremely straight, and it shows no sign of any past accident damage. The car features the desirable Campangolo Turbine wheels in nice condition..

Since this car is so complete and original it is a great candidate for a full restoration. The interior has all of its pieces, including all of the original upholstery, some of which has hardened and cracked after sitting for so long. All of the trim is still attached to the car and in overall quite nice shape. The engine in the car does run, and has quite healthy compression numbers. So healthy in-fact, we suspect the engine was rebuilt not long before the car ended up sitting. However, this car is not turn-key, as it was run off of false fuel. The engine plate is blank, so it is likely that it had a factory replacement engine early in it's life.
