1985 Alfa Romeo GTV Additional Info:

1985 Alfa Romeo GTV6. Ran when parked. Purchased as a drive it as I restore it project. My son was doing a "project" in the garage, I backed over the screws, flattened both back tires. That was 2 years ago. It's not that I forgot about the car, I was well aware of the time required for this car. I was not aware of the time an 11 and 13 year old require. So the car has sat. The first weekend I got the car I took my wife on a cruise in the mountains. The car got so many compliments. My wife, who was not crazy about the car in the first place, got zero compliments. She hates the car now. She is a wonderful wife, and my kids are great. So yeah, the Alfa sat.
The Details:New Master Cylinder, New Clutch, both in the last 4 years.Very little rust, floorboards clean. No chips in glass. When cleaned up, Wow!Ansa Muffler, Doug Thorensen Headers, better springs, shocks.Second Gear Synchro is weak, if you slooowwwly put in in second no crunch. It sucks, I know, and it is admittedly another factor for the sale. I don't have the time to replace that. I have been quoted between $1200 and $2000 to make it cool again.
Which leads me to,When it it ran, even with the lame synchro, it was awesome. I would blast it up Ute Pass to Green Mountain Falls and back home. All the descriptors you hear about thr GTV6 ring so true. The crackling roar of the V6. Nimble, responsive handling. The overall experience of Alfadom. Pretty close to a religious type experience.
Well then if it's so spectacular, why are you selling it?I am moving to a new house. It has a two car garage. No room for the Alfa. My wife, who compares the Alfa to a trampy Italian mistress, has promised me a nicer car if I sell that expletive deleted. My kids want to toss their bikes around the garage. I have worked as a lineman for almost twenty years, my hip is getting weak. I can go on forever. My dream is to sell it to someone who will take it out of the state and restore it, then drive it, often. I want it out of the state so I don't have to see it. I guess like that mistress, I want her to be happy, but I don't want to see her with another.
Auction winner has a week to make payment. $500 deposit through Paypal. Its up to you to arrange shipping or towing. I am pretty easy to deal with otherwise.
