1988 Alfa Romeo Spider Quadrifoglio Convertible 2-Door Additional Info:

Overview

Ok collectors--here's a tip. Italian cars from the 1980's are hot right now. Especially with vintage styling cues from the era like body kits and spoilers. This could be a classic in waiting...OFFERED AT NO RESERVE!

Hurry and grab this lovely Alfa Romeo Quadrifoglio Spider while there is still time to enjoy it this Summer. Not a Roadster Salon restoration, but rather a very nice trade-in on a high-end project. Solid driver with very presentable cosmetics. Priced to sell immediately. Inspected and fully serviced at our shop prior to listing.

Cosmetic Impressions

In all candor, this car is the perfect solution for a buyer who wants an entry level Alfa that will be reliable and look nice at events without breaking the bank. Considering that our basic retored Alfa Romeo Spiders start at about $40K, this car is an absolute bargin.

The car was repainted at some point in its past in the original Alfa Romeo red. Reasonable work, with minimal overspray and high level of luster. Interior is original to the model. Leather has patina but not rips or tears. Carpets, dash and door panels all look very good, newer than actual age would indicate. Tires are decent, and not in need of immediate replacement.

The key to your satisfaction on this car will be expectations. If they are realistic---understanding and appreciating this is a nearly 30 year old spider in near original condition---you will be thrilled.

The difference between a "driver" and a "show car" should be obvious to most buyers. This particular car does not look tired, in fact it cleans up rather nicely. But do not expect a flawless show car. The paint and interior are above average for the year of the car. The finish is shiny and not oxydized. No signs of major rust or significant dings or scratches. Interior also looks newer than you would expect for the year.

Nothing about the car is stressed or in need of immediate attention. No smells or concerns--just a really nice older Alfa that can be driven at your leisure when ever and where ever the fancy takes you.

Mechancal and Driving Impressions

Alfa Spiders all have a unique feel and sound all there own--not to be confused with other vintage roadsters. Alfa buyers are seduced by these charms. To some degree, all Italian convertibles share that same DNA. For Alfa fans, the appeal is immediate and felt as soon as the key is turned.

The Alfa Spider is civilized and comfortable, while never losing sight of its sports car heritage. This car is easy to enjoy, whether on a twisty back road approaching its limits, or on a relaxed cruise down the highway. Frankly, there is a lot to like here for a very reasonable price. During our test loop, we found the car to be willing and tossable with no immediate concerns. Braking was solid and acceleration more impressive than we anticipated.

Market Value

Anything Pininfarina these days is going through the roof. The wave of appreciation has just started on late 80's vintage cars. Now is the perfect time to buy a solid spider with potential--at a price that makes sense. Clean Duettos are now bringing upward of $60K. Can the Quadrifoglio models be that far behind?
